Greener Grass, Wellbeing & Support

Greener Grass

Supporting mental wellbeing in Manx farming — farmers understanding farmers.

Greener Grass is an initiative by the Manx National Farmers’ Union (MNFU) to help those in the agricultural industry seek support for their wellbeing.
Farming can be a tough job — with long hours, financial pressures, and isolation often taking their toll. The aim of this project is simple:

To remind farmers that it’s okay not to be okay — and that help is always available.

Why Greener Grass Matters

Farming life can bring unique challenges, and many of these are faced in silence. The MNFU is proud to support campaigns such as Yellow Wellies’ “Mind Your Head”, which highlight the importance of wellbeing in farming communities.

In the UK, 95% of farmers under 40 say poor mental health is one of the biggest hidden problems in the industry.

Farmers Understanding Farmers

A number of MNFU members have completed Mental Health First Aid training with Isle Listen, ensuring there is always someone within the community who understands and can offer support. Please note that all conversations with our Mental Health First Aiders will remain completely confidential.
